Assuming there is no Government advice to the contrary, we plan to go ahead with the following programme of talks. Please check this page before setting out for a scheduled talk.
15th march
"Industries of the St. Austell Granite" by Ivor Bowditch
19th April The AGM, followed by "Tin and Copper on the Godolphin Estate" by Steve Polglase.
Sat 23rd. April Field trip to Godolphin led by Steve Polglase.
Meet at 1.00pm at the National Trust Car Park at Godolphin House. (CBMS members only)

'Life and Times of Silvanus Trevail by Hazel Harradence
Trevail (1851 to 1903) was one of Cornwall’s most prominent architects, designing many types of buildings including mining related ones such as the Old County Records Office in Redruth and the St Agnes Miners Institute. His style was very distinctive using mainly granite, at least in Cornwall.

Tunnel Alignment, ‘Hit or Miss’, by Dr Andy Wetherelt (ACSM 1983)
This talk will outline the historical & current methods of tunnel survey &
alignment which have been & are being used to ensure that tunnels end up where they should be!

Seats will be spaced 3 feet apart and such ventilation as can be provided, will be. Dress appropriately as winter progresses....

Guests are welcome at all of our normal monthly evening meetings and are free.
